A Vancouver Celebration of Mixed-Roots Arts + Ideas


Sept 12 (Wed) Mixed Voices Raised 7-8:30pm
Writers, poets and artists in dialogue!
FREE EVENT
Location: Vancouver Public Library, Central Branch, Alice MacKay Room.
Hosted by VPL Chief Librarian Sandra Singh. A literary panel and q&a with the hottest authors exploring identity in their creative writing. Confirmed literary talents include essayist, poet and musician Wayde Compton, novelist and Zen priest Ruth Ozeki, and Governor General’s Literary Award-nominated illustrator and writer Julie Flett.

Sept 13 (Th) Mixed Flicks 7-8:30pm
We bring back this much loved event, curated by the talented film-maker Jeff Chiba Stearns.

Location: Vancouver Public Library, Central Branch, Alice MacKay Room.
Join us as we explore the latest media featuring mixed identity, with a mixed actors panel, film screenings, and q&a from the film-makers. The following film makers, actors and producers let their talent shine at this event: Octavio Warnock-Graham, Ann Marie Fleming, Jason Karman, Kyle Toy, Tetsuro Shigematsu and Jennifer Spence.

Sept 15 (Sat) Hapa Family Day in the Park 1-4pm

Join us for this day of family fun! Bring down a blanket and meet other Hapas in your community. Face Painting, Games and more!
